So...of all the versions of 'Smile' that you've posted so far, which one, or ones, have the best sound quality & overall cohesiveness in your opinion? It would be great to have one superlative version- there are too many choices now!
Thanks for a great blog & all the Smiles-
Well.
So far, and in my opinion, the best sounding mix is Dj Mic Luv's (the sound is really really nice), but i don't assume it's a very cohesive version (Wind Chimes is track 2, for example), but who cares.. And the more cohesive ones might be Mok's and Ryan Guidry's. Anyway my opinion is not objective.
So, Dj Mic Luv's, Guidry's and Mok's version might be a nice start.
Thanks for the 'Smile' tips...I already agree with you about the Guidry version so am looking forward to hearing Mic Luv's.
Whenever I listen to 'Smile' I feel fairly certain that it would have been a great big bomb if it had been released as planned in 1967...it's too fragmented & eccentric, nothing to 'sing along' to, no hits, etc... doomed to be a critic's/musican's favorite forever, as it remains now.
